*Phew!* Things have been busy lately, tough I guess that's not much of a change lol. In an attempt to get in on this internet marketing thang, I figured I should update my journal, start in on my Tumblr again, Start posting/share in Facebook again, and make a Twitter. At this rate, I'll never have time to leave my computer for conventions xD But I'm gonna give it a try!

STILL TO DO:

*Finish Several Commissions (look for the list and status in this post!)

*Send out the monthly mailing list for August

*Add mailing list information to my website

*Add social network information to my website

*Finish prep for Matsuricon

*Design/order a vinyl sign for my booths

*Apply for MORE cons! :D

So yeah, not much time for anything at this point... But I figured that it's been so long since I've done an update that it was about time I updated my journal.

Thanks to calyonous20 for the pic of the heart ponies (designed by BambooDog at my booth for Anime Midwest!

Anime Midwest was even better than last year. My whole framily went and we had a great time! I would totally buy a table there RIGHT NOW if they would let me lol! We played Battle Tech for the first time - wow! It was crazy! And the Battle Tech people may want us to commission them some cups with their logo on it, which would be awesome! We hung out with NinjaLizzard and her sister and sister's boyfriend for most of the con. OMG Chicago pizza FTW! I also ran a couple panels, which went great! It was my first time running panels at a big con, so I was SUPER nervous, but I really enjoyed myself, and so did the packed room!

After the AWESOME that was Anime Midwest, Atomic Lollipop was a bit of a let-down. The convention itself was just poorly done. The panels and entertainment were great (nerdy burlesque show and petting a lemur FTW!), but nobody was IDing anyone, there was underage drinking, smoking, and (excuse the phrase) boning everywhere, and the people running the convention couldn't give me any information on any of the panels or even where things were being held. I definitely won't be back, if only because of the inattention to the illegal activities that were present.

Glass City Comic Con was a refreshing little con in Ohio. We hung out a lot with kuroitenshi13 and lilly-peacecraft and I will be crashing with lilly-peacecraft for Matsuricon in a couple weeks. Can't wait! We'll HOPEFULLY be stopping by and grabbing kuroitenshi13 if we can squeeze enough space into my new car :3 We did manage to take a break after the con itself and get some AMAZING Vietnamese food with our friends, and the next day we headed back down to Toledo for a visit to the zoo with kuroitenshi13, which was awesome! I'd never been, and I am totally willing to go again!

Next was Go!Daiko con. It's a pretty small convention, and they seem to have a lot of staffing issues (mostly staff members quitting and not sharing what information they had saved up for the rest of the staff to use). The dealers and artist were shoved together in one small room, which meant that, while we were ALLOWED to have 2 people per artist booth, we only had room for 1. The tables were TINY - only 6 x 1 ft, so we had to get an extra one. This was also our first try with not bringing any perlers to a convention, since we didn't think we'd have the room. That all being said, I had a great time! I ran my panels again, with the help of the awesome DJM, and we sold more than I expected!

In even BETTER news, when I talked to the con chair about some of my concerns with the convention itself, he offered me the job of being Artist Alley Head for 2015! I have some serious changes I'd love to make, and Steve, the con chair, seems more than willing to let me do so! I can't wait to help whip this little con into shape!

And now it's time for a breather... but not really. I've got a TON of commissions I need to work on from last month's con craze! If you have a commission that you purchased from me and are still waiting on it, please don't fret! You are foremost in my mind for the next 2 weeks at least!

COMMISSION STATUSES:

1. Zelda Wedding: Shot glasses - 100%, Champagne flutes - 70%, center pieces - 30%
2. Stark Goblet for NinjaLizzard's sister - 50%
3. Cammy Flauge heart perler for CammyFlauge - 20%
4. Gray dragon ears for Kelsey - 0%
5. Perler commission for MasterSaruwatari - 0%
6. Catbug bracelet for Kigurumi Canada  - 0%
7. Vegeta & Capsule Corp cups for Megan - 0%

Sorry for the delay guys - thanks for being so patient with me! The Zelda wedding is eating all my time - 2 VERY INTRICATE champagne flutes, 2 shot glasses, and 20 center pieces before the 9th of August @_@ lots to do! My goal is to get everyone their commissions before Matsuricon! Everyone else's commissions are much more manageable and should fly by in the next couple weeks before Matsuricon :3 Until next time...

Updated 2014 Con List

(x) *January 3-5 – Anime-ZAP, Embassy Suites, East Peoria, IL - small, but I might go back because I love the people who run the con ;3

(x) *March 22 – Animarathon, Bowling Green State Uniersity, Bowling Green, OH - Same as last year - I'd buy my table for next year now if I could!

(x) April 4-6 – Shutocon, Lansing Center & Radisson, Lansing, MI - Was GREAT! Can't wait for next year!

(x) April 10-13 – Shinbokucon, Sawmill Creek Resort of Huron, Ohio – Not too shabby, though I think buying a vendor table was a bit premature. Next year I'll try for an artist booth instead. Met some great people though!

(x) April 25-27 – Midwest Media Expo, Detroit Renaissance Center, Detroit, Michigan – Fabulous! Can't wait for next year!

(x) May 10 – Anime Park, Canton High School, Canton, Mi – Wonderful, as always! I love small, close cons!

(x) May 17 – Electronica Expo, Wayne County Fairgrounds, Belleville, Michigan – VERY small. Not sure I'll go back next year.

(x) May 30-June 01 - Indy Pop Con, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis, Indianapolis, IN - A great little first year comic con. They didn't have as many people as we expected, but we still did well enough to buy our table for next year on the spot :3

* July 4-6 – Anime Midwest, Hyatt Regency O’Hare, Chicago, IL – Just as fabulous as last year! :D (Big Grin) Might need a dealer space for all the new products I intend to have for next year ;3

* July 11-13 - Atomic Lollipop, Toronto Science Center, Toronto, Canada - The convention itself was ok, and seeing Canada was cool, but I didn't like the way that NOTHING was regulated. I think I won't be returning because of that fact.

* July 26-28 – Glass City Comic Con, Seagate Convention Centre, Toledo, OH – Was fun! Will be returning if possible :3

* August 1-3 – Go!Daikocon, Auburn Hills Marriott Pontiac at Centerpoint, Pontiac, MI – Even more fun than last year with all the panels I ran this year!
